HELP US HELP MISKA!

‼️- We received a call from a good Samaritan in Brooklyn  – she found this adorable but super-skinny & malnourished husky limping and crying around the area. We went down there and our hearts broke when we saw this poor beautiful boy. We found out from another neighbor that a family who owned him moved a few weeks ago, and left the dog to fend for himself on the street. Absolutely heartbreaking!! We leashed him and took him straight to the vet. He was not chipped and is about 2 years old. We did a full blood panel and tests, but the vet noticed something going on with him neurologically. She suggested we quickly get him an ultrasound. She also said he has lost over 25% (!) of his body weight and is severely dehydrated. He will need more veterinary care to help him get back on his feet. And for us to figure out if there’s something severe going on with him.

 

We named him Miska – which means ‘little bear.” He is shy, but so loving! He definitely will need much veterinary care to get him back on his feet  – but with all that has happened to him you can tell he is so grateful to be rescued by us – he is now at least safe & warm and slowly being fed to get his strength up – the vet also said she thinks he may have eaten rocks and sticks as he was literally starving to death, so he may possibly need an operation before he can get neutered.

 

We fell in love with this big guy from the moment we saw him – please help us with his vetting so we can get him on his feet like brand new and adopted out to a loving home where he will never find himself homeless on the streets again!! Our goal is to make him better and to make his dream (and ours) come true for him to have a new loving foster home in time for the holidays!
