Help My Senior Dog

Hi everyone, Lucky is a 13-year-old Schnauzer recently diagnosed with vestibular disease, and he needs your help to make it through. He unexpectedly fell ill this week, and it’s been one of the most challenging experiences of my life. Our pets are like family, and Lucky is mine. He has been my childhood best friend, teenage comfort and a faithful adult companion. He’s been in my family since he was a puppy and I was a little girl. We’ve both grown up together and have always been there when the other needs. Unfortunately today Lucky needs more than what I can offer alone, so I’m reaching out to all of you to help me keep my promise to him.
Lucky unexpectedly collapsed on Tuesday. His condition quickly worsened from there and soon he was no longer able to walk or stand up. Lucky is so playful and will ask anyone to run around with him, so seeing him paralyzed was devastating and bewildering. We took him back and forth to the vet all week, and we finally discovered he had vestibular disease. Vestibular disease is a sudden, non-progressive disturbance of balance and can cause dogs to collapse, turn in circles compulsively and have extreme bouts of nausea and vomiting.
Fortunately, the vet told us Lucky has the chance to make a full recovery and get back on his feet – so long as we continue to treat him. Unfortunately, this has been an extremely costly experience and will continue to be so. My mom has financed his current vet bills through a credit card, but we just don’t have the funds to pay it off and continue Lucky’s treatment. I'm a full-time college student and work multiple jobs. I have already put $750 of my own money towards his bills, but unfortunately there is still a substantial sum left. Lucky is a very healthy 13-year-old Schnauzer who has had minimal health problems until this point. The vet believes he has a lot of life left in him, so I’m reaching out to you all to help me guarantee this and continue his treatment. Lucky is the light of my life and deserves the world. Any amount of help is appreciated – our pets are like family and we just hope Lucky makes a full recovery!
