Afghan evacuee mother killed by drunk driver
Donation protected
Just months ago, this beautiful family arrived in Charlotte from Afghanistan after the well-publicized evacuation. On February 15, they lost their 23-year-old wife/mother, Nabila, when a drunk driver killed her and a friend while they were walking on a sidewalk. They came to America with nothing to start a new life and had begun a promising future when a careless act changed everything, leaving two toddlers and a baby without a mom. Now, her husband, Ahmad (obscured for security concerns) is left to manage a new job and their children with no family in the US to help.
Since they arrived, they have become like family to us. We hope to raise enough funds to provide long-term childcare during work hours so Ahmad can continue to support his family, pay for funeral expenses, and set up college funds for the children. Any support you can offer to keep this family together would be greatly appreciated. Please share this with friends, coworkers, family and organizations. Thank you!
