Jordan's Top Surgery
Donation protected
Beginning hormone replacement therapy in June of 2017 changed more than just my appearance, it significantly changed my life for the better. The process greatly improved my mental health along with helping me alleviate some of the gender dysphoria that I had been experiencing my entire life. Although testosterone has alleviated a majority of my body dysphoria and makes me incredibly proud of the reflection I see in the mirror, there is only so far it can alter my body without having to undergo medical surgery.
The next step in my medical transition is to undergo “top surgery”, or chest reconstruction surgery.
Top Surgery is a procedure done by a specialized plastic surgeon, and will allow me to have the upper body I have dreamed of, and the upper body I should have.
There are a variety of different methods available, but after having a consultation with one of the best surgeons in the field, I will likely have a procedure called Peri-areolar incision. This will include the removal and reconstruction of my “female” chest.
Because these types of procedures are done by a select group of surgeons, it is costly. Unfortunately, insurance does not cover the entire amount, despite their necessity and important nature, they still fall under the category of "elective surgery”.
Asking for help has never been my strong suit; I’m hoping that you can find it in your heart to donate to help get me one step closer to becoming my true self. Anything is appreciated!
