Support Connor's Recovery Journey
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Tracy and I'm raising funds for my nephew Connor who was in a devasting snowboarding accident on February 13th. Connor collided with a tree and suffered multiple broken ribs, collapsed lungs and a devasting fracture to his spinal cord which has left him paralyzed. Thankfully his childhood friend was able to find him, contact ski patrol and get him to the hospital in time. Once he was stabilized they were able to transfer him to Sunnybrook hospital for spinal cord surgery. They put a metal rod in his back and repaired the fracture as best they could but he suffered a severe break to his spinal cord, resulting in him being paralyzed from the stomach down.
Connor is a bright, strong and active 21 year old. He loves music and sports, especially Lacrosse and golf. The first thing he asked his mom when waking from the surgery was whether he would ever be able to play Lacrosse again. He is also one of the bravest people I have ever met. He is handling this devasting injury with an unbelievable grace and strength. I am so proud of the man he is.
Connor has a long road to recovery. He's looking forward to getting into Lyndhurst where he can begin his rehab and learn new ways of doing things. He will require extensive home and vehicle modifications, assistive devices such as wheelchairs, ramps and lifts and ongoing physical therapy once he's able to return home. It's likely to be a two year recovery without income. We are raising money to help Connor and his parents cover some of these costs.
Any contributions will be deeply appreciated and make a huge difference as Connor builds a new life.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Aunt Tracy
