Boatner on bike
Donation protected
My name is Justin Boatner. I’m currently doing a fundraiser to fund for a wheelchair accessible vehicle. Even knowing I am fundraising for the wheelchair accessible vehicle there is one sport that I used to do that I can’t do anymore and that is cycling. Growing up, I used to do cycling all the time because it gave me a lot of anxiety relief. Being able to just enjoy the world and see it what it is is one of life’s pleasures. But because of my physical disability, I can’t do cycling anymore. So I am starting this fundraiser to help fundraisers for the bike. There is a company that will make a custom electric recumbent bike that will fit my needs perfectly well. It will allow me the abilities to go back to doing cycling like I used to do. The price is $8000 and we had a goal to reach by mid May to have this bike. It takes three weeks to build the bike and ship it out. I know it’s going to be incredibly difficult but in the terms of anxiety relief, and autism. I don’t have much relief. I nearly died of serotonin syndrome back in September of last year, and I can’t take any thing that raises serotonin level such as mental health medication’s. So I’m constantly in a lot of anxiety and pain. But cycling really does relieve me of this suffering. Help me get back on the trails.
This is the breakdown to the adaptive bike.
This is the breakdown to the adaptive bike.
- It takes three weeks to build.
- It’s being done in Utah so it takes an additional week to ship out.
- The bike has an e assist motor to it to help me do peddling
- The goal is by mid May to have all of the set up.
- The adaptive bike is a recumbent bike, which allows my body to have much more support while cycling.
- We will also be getting a custom-made bike trailer for my service dog Duke. So he can ride with me.
Thank you and spread the word about the fundraiser and we will be doing several activities for both this and the adaptive vehicle fundraiser
