Bob & Sheri's 49ER

Donation protected
Our friends Bob and Shari own The 49er, an iconic eatery on north Broadway in Slavic Village.  They've been serving inexpensive breakfasts and lunches for decades, and they give back to the community in countless ways -- even when they were broken into last summer, one of their concerns was that the person who did it (someone they knew who it was) would get the help he needed for his mental illness.  That's community service, and community caring.

Last week two people in a stolen car rammed into their restaurant at 70 miles per hour, destroying an entire corner of the structure.  The driver/passenger are fine; the restaurant is not.  There is close to $25,000 worth of damage that won't be covered by insurance, because there is significant damage to the plumbing, the counter, appliances, etc. etc.  This is after their cook of many decades passed away, and the whole 49er family is getting by on unemployment.

In neighborhoods like Slavic Village, every small business is also a major business.  We want our dear friends to make it through this.

We know everyone is challenged right now.  But can you give a little, or a lot?
