The Bob and Lucy Violette Bowling Foundation

October 25, 2023, Bob Violette was at his local spot, Just In Time Recreation. This night he was not bowling in his own league, he was doing what he did every Wednesday night- coaching youth bowlers for extra practice. Bob committed to teaching youth the sport while providing wisdom and life lessons, every Wednesday night and every Saturday morning. Bob dedicated countless hours as a USBC league coach to the children, and his wife Lucy was always there supporting Bob, the kids, and the families. Lucy also bowled in many leagues herself, however on this night, she was just there in support. She was also lovingly referred to as the “League Mom”.

The loss of them both, together, is heart wrenching. The unexpected loss came at a time of great health and many years to look forward to with their family and watching their grandchildren grow and evolve. They were so in love with one another and with all of us. Their huge loss takes a toll not only on their immediate family, but to all who knew and loved them throughout the community, where they lived for over 50 years, and notably to their bowling community.

Supporting this Go Fund Me supports immediate family and assists with unexpected expenses including moving costs for the immediate family that has had to relocate back to Maine due to this tragedy. Additionally, excess funds will be used to support efforts to memorialize Bob and Lucy and the legacy that will continue in our hearts and actions for years to come.
