Friends, Family and Well Wisher;
As Some of you know Bob and Shannon have had quite a go at it since Opening their business OBMC. They are trying everything possible to succeed. With the shops slow time approaching quickly brings growing concerns. As hard as it is to ask they need to reach out for help from their community and friends.

Bob and Shannon’s Story

Back on March 1 2020 Bob and I signed a lease for 10 years here in California to start our business that many of you are aware of Ocean Beach Meat Company. Little did anyone know that just 13 days later the infamous world wide pandemic hit..Covid. Needless to say this stopped us dead in our tracks with our inspections and build out. It left us paying 100% of our rent as well as expedited fees for permits that were not fulfilled by the city or the state. We were locked in and spending all our money with nothing coming in. From open inspections that were before our lease signing, and no way out of it, it cost us about $170,000.00 Finally on February 14th, 2021 we were able to open shop with a total of $1,100.00 in our account.

Fast forward to today, we are just barely scraping by, with no assistance from the pandemic PPO loans, or grants. Banks will not even entertain us because we haven’t been in business long enough or built up enough credit. Bob and I have not pulled in a paycheck and just recently had to let our only employee go. We work 7 days a week between OBMC and working for other establishments to pull in side income, barley making ends meet, just to make this dream work. We currently have 4 other business’s in our establishment sharing kitchen and production space. This does help alleviate some costs but as you all know utilities and rents are just increasing with vast speed. Being a month behind on bills doesn’t let you sleep well at night.

Future Hopes:
We really want this business to succeed and will stop at nothing to do so. Right from the get go our plan was to make this a self sustainable co-op, allowing us to just be lease managers and to come back East and open up a smaller version of what we have now. Grow the brand that many of you have come to love. I ask that if you have the ability to donate to our dream and help us get ahead and out from this pandemic suck.. we promise to not disappoint. We take great pride in what we do and are embarrassed to even have to ask. It’s been such a difficult start, that we feel as though this is our only option to help us move forward. If you can help we thank you ,, and if you can only share and spread the word, you are still helping and we are forever grateful ..

All our love and appreciation :
Bobby and Shannon
