Bob & Dani Banicki - Cancer Fight

Dani wanted me to come on here and thank you all for the thoughts and everything that has been done for her. Uncle Bob had his trip to Texas, he will be receiving care back home. Aunt Dani has had one heck of a fight. She was in the hospital for a couple of weeks and came home to recover. She was placed on oxygen and was seeing her Dr as needed. This past week she’s been tired in a lot of pain, unfortunately, hospice was called in. She is home comfortable right now with her family. She’s a hell of a fighter! Please, continue your thoughts and prayers for her and the family.

I am reaching out on behalf of the Banicki Family, Rob, Wendy, Chris & Heather.

Bob & Dani are both fighting stage 4 cancers. Bob started his fight in 2013 when he was diagnosed with stage 2 adenocarcinoma of the ascending colon. Upon completion of therapy, he entered surveillance for cancer survivorship. In 2019, the news that Bob was then diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer was told to them. The treatments he is receiving, are one of the last resorts and in order to maintain a quality of life, the Banicki family decided they were going to consult bigger. Bob will be traveling in April, to MD Anderson Center in Texas, one of the best cancer centers. The Doctors discovered a tumor on Feb 20th, making this trip even more valuable. He will be undergoing treatments for this prior to his journey to Texas. On top of this diagnosis, he also has a fight with Polymyalgia Rheumatica and Lupus.

As if the news could not get any more devastating, Dani was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer with metastatic bone cancer in 2021. Just recently, while Dani was working, she experienced severe pain and was taken via ambulance to Traverse City, Munson. There, she was informed that she had a tumor that had grown on her spine causing a fracture in the middle of her spine. She started radiation on Feb. 8th.

Dani has tried to remain working through all of this, pushing herself. She will not be able to accompany Bob to Texas any longer like she had planned. Between Rob & Chris (and their families) they have been very involved. Chris will travel with Bob and Rob will take care of Dani.

Any help towards the expenses they will be enduring (travel, medical, co-pays, loss of work, etc.) are appreciated, if you cannot, please, say a prayer, those too are welcome.

The thought of having one parent fall ill is a lot to take in, but having both parents fight like heck at the same time is something one cannot fathom.

These two are the most caring out there, always there for anyone else in need, now, they need that help, whether its a note of encouragement or any other way. I could not ask for any better......Aunt, Uncle and cousins.

Bob & Dani have a fight ahead of them both and this is a battle that no family should ever have to go through.
