Bob Linder Severance Package

Our friend Bob Linder's position as Head Curator at the David Ireland House at 500 Capp Street was abruptly terminated without notice, severance, or compensation of any kind. Linder has served as Head Curator since 2016. While at the David Ireland House, he organized challenging, relevant, and forward-thinking exhibitions and programs with the work of Cady Noland, Mike Kelley, Felix Gonzales-Torres, Virginia Overton, Michael E. Smith, and many others.
Linder was also co-owner of Capital Gallery from 2015 until April of this year, where he and partner Jonathan Runcio exhibited emerging artists. Before Capital, Bob co-directed Queen's Nails, an artist-run project space that supported a broad range of ideas and communities.
For three decades Bob has worked tirelessly to build and support an arts community with passion, resilience, and generosity in a city that has become increasingly inhospitable to those working in fields of cultural production. After all of his efforts and sacrifice, he has unceremoniously been asked to leave 500 Capp Street.
Linder has a family to support in San Francisco, a city where curatorial positions or any positions in the arts are rapidly being eliminated and living costs continue to rise. It is up to us, the community, to succeed where the institutions fail. Bob is talented, resourceful, and will land on his feet, but let's help out until then.
The $20,000 sum is half of what Bob should have been offered as severance, but anything would be helpful and immensely appreciated.
