Bob Rowan Medical Relief Fund

Our father, Bob Rowan, has been challenged with one of the most horrific medical conditions, dementia. He has been fighting this battle for over 10 years. What started as forgetfulness has deteriorated into the inability to function.
Dad needs your help. We need your help. Unfortunately this long battle has not only taken his health, but his life’s savings. His dementia has really kicked in over the last several months and the assisted living home that he had lived in over the last few years let us know that they cannot adequately provide the level of care he now requires. To get him into a memory care facility that could care for him has become a financial hardship. Many of you have reached out over the last few years and asked, “how can we help Bob?” We have always maintained that when the time is right, we will let you know how you can help. Unfortunately the time has come. The disease has taken a financial toll on our family and we need your help. We want to keep Dad in his current facility so that he can live out the rest of his days with the personal care needed. We are also aware we need to financially plan for the reality that he will pass away with no money to his name and we would like to give him a proper funeral.
At one point in life we nicknamed my father “the Mayor” because he knew everyone and was always heavily involved in the community and in our life. He is now dealing with a crippled mind and body that often leaves him asking his own children who they are and how they are involved in his life. Whatever you can give to help us battle this disease would be helpful in keeping Dad safe and in the facility he needs to be in for the remainder of his life.
No one can predict how long our father will require this level of medical care but for right now we’re focusing on keeping our head above water one year at a time. Our goal right now is to raise $20,000 dollars. This money will go towards his monthly medical costs and ultimately will help pay for his funeral. Any money remaining will be donated to 'Dementia Society of America' in the memory of Bob Rowan. These are strange times that we are living in but your generosity could go a long way in helping our father remain in a safe place as we fight this brutal disease. We cannot express how much it means to us that so many of you have reached out and asked to help. We are truly humbled by the generosity of so many. We love you all.
