Bob Torrey's Benefit
Donation protected
It’s no secret that Bob was a big deal on the football field. He began his career at Bolivar
Central School and joined the team at Penn State University. Bob rushed over 1000
yards during his time at PSU. He was a 6th round draft pick in 1979 for the NY Giants.
Bob also played for the Miami Dolphins and finished his NFL career with the Philadelphia Eagles, playing in the 1981 Super Bowl.
What may not be as well known, is that Bob has been a patient at Strong Memorial
Hospital since August 14th . He has undergone a left leg arterial bypass surgery
as well as amputation of his left big toe. Due to numerous complications, Bob developed
blood clots which made the arterial bypass non-functioning. Bob has had three wound
vacs and an open incision during this time because of the threat of infection. He will
undergo an amputation of his left leg when he is considered strong enough for surgery.
Once he has recovered, Bob faces many months in a skilled nursing facility while
regaining his mobility.
Bob’s wife Brenda has been by his side throughout this ordeal, driving back and forth to
Rochester daily to support him. We are humbly asking for donations to assist with his already mounting medical bills and future expenses. Any donation would be greatly appreciated.
Please keep both Bob and Brenda in your thoughts during this difficult time.
Please feel free to share.
