Please Help Bob and Karen Gross

I am the son of two very loved and supportive people, Bob and Karen Gross. I set up this gofundme campaign to raise money to assist with their mounting medical expenses and for help with their care. Bob and Karen have helped so many people in the LGBTQ community and beyond, including founding Transfamily of Cleveland and the Help Line. Now they need support. They need your help.
My father was recently diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a bone marrow cancer. He was hospitalized for a month during his business's busiest time. We, his family, were forced to shut down his practice. He has responded well to treatment; however, other health issues have led to 2 more hospitalizations. My mother, a breast cancer survivor herself, has had multiple health issues. She recently had one of her replaced shoulders "re-replaced." In fact, they were in the pre-op holding area at the same time a few of weeks ago. She recently spent 4 days in the hospital after a bad fall.
My parents, Bob and Karen, have been active in the GLBTQ community for a long time. They founded TransFamily of Cleveland in 1995. When they opened their home to transpeople, their family and friends, they had no idea of where it would lead. With the internet they began reaching out with a website and multiple email lists. They have received calls from around the country on their own Helpline. It is amazing how many times they have been told how they saved someone's life by being there with unconditional support.
They have been recognized many times by different organizations within the LGBTQ community. Cleveland Ward 14 Councilor Joe Santiago presented Bob and Karen with a city council proclamation honoring their work during a 2007 celebration at the Cleveland LGBT Center. Twice they were selected as the Grand Marshals of the Cleveland Pride Parade, most recently in 2015.
The stress of worrying about paying for their medical and personal care expenses is not helping their health conditions. All donations will go to their care. We will be so thankful for any help you can provide.
