Bobbie's journey from 2 legs to wheelchair
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Bobbie. 2022 just started and it's already been a long year.
In September 2021 I was home watching TV on the most normal of days. Without warning or reason my calves (both) went numb. Over the next 3 weeks I tried every vitamin, supplement and stretch I could think of hoping something easy was the cause of my spreading ailments. September 25th was the last time I was able to walk. The next morning I wasn't able to walk, the numbness had taken over, arm weakness made the smallest movement feel impossible. Things were seriously wrong and I couldn't delay the need for medical help anymore.
I've spent months in hospital beds/rehabilitation trying to find what started the hardest journey I have yet to finish. I have peripheral autonomic neuropathy of my hands and feet with gradient effect up the arms and legs. The effects are pins and needles, burning sensation, extreme sensitivity to temperature, and loss of mobility and dexterity.
2 legs to 4 wheels has been a challenge. I am hoping to regain the ability to walk again one day so I'm here asking for any help I can get. I have 4 days a week of occupational therapy, 2 days a week physical therapy and the unexpected and unfortunate expenses of traveling, medical bills, rising costs are annihilating the savings I had.
8 months later
I'm working towards walking and every donation has brought me closer to my goals. I've used the money to cover my fuel expenses getting to physical and occupational therapy over the last 8 months. I have bills I can't afford to pay until I'm approved for disability or sent to find a job due to recovery. Please help my family as we are in extreme debt from this tragic series of events.
