Bob Morgan: The Comeback Kid

Donation protected
My name is Courtney Morgan.  I started this campaign in the hopes of surprising my Dad and step-mom, Staci, with the funds raised to help ease the financial burden created by my Dad's impending medical bills.  I am my Dad's only child, and he is my best friend.

No matter what name you know him by, Bob, Bobby, or Robert, my Dad is an amazing man with many talents.

Full of personality, my Dad is blessed with the unique ability of walking into a room an instantly being friends with everyone in it.  With his infectious laugh and witty spirit, there is never a dull moment when he is around.

My Dad is not only personable, but intelligent .  He is a walking encyclopedia, especially when it comes to history and classic rock.  I like to jokingly refer to him as a human jukebox.  Because he can name almost every classic rock song, and often times even the year it came out.

I also like to joke that my Dad is like a cat with 9 lives.   Because no matter what crazy situation or trouble he finds himself dropped into, he always lands on his feet.

All jokes aside, my Dad is one of the strongest people I know.  He is stubborn.  He is a fighter.  It is because of these traits that he is able to overcome the obstacles in his life; however, it is also because of these traits that he would never be willing to admit that he needs help, like he does right now from you.

Sadly, after weeks of down playing how sick he had really been feeling, my Dad was admitted to the emergency room with stroke like symtoms on Thursday, June 23rd.  It was then they detected a gulf ball sized mass in his brain, which had caused a bleed.  It was shortly after that they also detected a mass in his lungs.  On Monday, June 27th my Dad was finally deemed strong enough to undergo surgery to have the mass removed, and thankfully they were able to get a total gross resection of the mass.  As a result of the mass, the bleed, and the surgery, my Dad has suffered some minor vision and thought process impairment.  On June 29th he was finally deemed stable enough to be moved out of the ICU, and is now awaiting the start of speech, physical, and occuptional theorapy.  After a few days of anxiously awaiting the pathology results from the brain mass, we were informed on July 1st that it was melanoma.  Now we await a bronchoscopy, so that the mass in his lungs can be biopsied.  So as you can see, his fight is far from over.

On top of all this, due to his impairments my Dad may never be able to return to work, and as the main breadwinner in the family, my Dad and Staci are now struggling to figure out how they will continue to pay their bills.

There is no doubt in my mind that my Dad will fight through this obstacle in his life, just like all the others.  And he will win, because he has to, his life is on the line.

My Dad is only 59 years young, and has a lot of life left to live.  And I have a lot of big life moments left to experience that I cannot bear the thought of him missing.

It is because of all this that I humbly ask you to donate to and support my Dad's medical bill fund.  Every dollar counts.  If you have no extra funds to spare, please feel free to contribute by simply sharing this post and reaching out to my Dad to help keep his spirits up.

I am eternally grateful and humbled by all of your ongoing love and support.

Love Always,
Courtney
