Bodhi Jones Fights Cancer (again)

Hi, my name is Rebecca and if you guys know me then you know my beloved dog, Bodhi Jones.

I found Bodhi almost 11 years ago at a high kill shelter in NYC. Even though he was super friendly with people and other dogs he was scheduled to be euthanized the next morning.

I worked with a fabulous rescue and lady (his aunt Penny) to get him safe and out of that shelter.

Since that day, Bodhi has been my best friend and is always by my side.

He has fought and survived 2 different mast cell tumors, a dermal hemangiosarcoma, a sarcoma on his leg that he went through radiation with, and just earlier this month he had his spleen removed, a liver lobe removed and a cancerous adrenal gland tumor discovered and removed.

He has been recovering beautifully as if nothing had happened.

It’s been less than a month since this most recent surgery and we have just unfortunately found out that he has two skin tumors that are suspected mast cell tumors.

We have been given an estimate of $3,000 - $4,000 for his next surgery.

His last major surgery that was done last month was about $11,000.

Between his follow up appointments, aspirates and the middle of the night emergency emergency vet visit, there has been an additional $4,000+.

This next surgery will put us at nearly $20,000 spent since December 27.

I know some of you probably think that I am crazy for doing this, but he is happy and absolutely full of life and seems nowhere near close to calling it quits so I will fight for him just like I know he would for me.

His doctors have all assured me that his cancers are absolutely unrelated and just “really bad luck”.

If he was showing any signs of not feeling well then things would probably be different. But right now, Bodhi is, well, Bodhi.

Happy, goofy, sweet, drooly, farty, bouncy, quirky, juke you out, lovable 80lbs of mush “woo woo woooo”, wants to sit in your lap and lick you, absolutely perfect Bodhi.
