Help with Bolt’s life saving surgery❤️

Bolt (Bolty Wolty Walter June) is our Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd. He’s 153 pounds, 1 year old, and our “tiny baby boy.” He had a health scare at the end of March, and in the blink of an eye we thought we were going to lose him. I’m happy to say he’s on the up, but he has a road ahead of him with recovery and a 50% survival rate if he does not have the lung surgery he needs 3 hours from home.
Bolt started breathing very strange out of nowhere, and it quickly turned into him struggling to breathe. I immediately knew something was wrong and took him to the vet. He looked good on the outside, his lungs even sounded good, but an X-ray quickly showed his lungs were full of air/fluid and his heart was not where it was supposed to be. He was diagnosed with pneumothorax. Most of the time this is caused by severe injury, but in giant breeds can happen spontaneously. We were told right away most outcomes from this we’re not good. We had a choice to make on where he should receive his urgent care, and we decided to keep him at our hometown vet, so he was close to home if anything happened throughout the weekend. He’s back home with us 5 days later after many procedures, and his vet fighting like heck for him. But he continues to struggle to breathe, and has a collapsed lung. He’s not 100%, and might not ever be, but he’s well enough to come home to his family and hopefully life a long life with us after this surgery. He has a long road ahead of him still, but we wouldn’t change a thing for our baby boy!
Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers for him!
