Bombini's injuries after being found in a ditch
Donation protected
Hi
I am raising funds for the ongoing hospital care for a newborn foal (Lady Bombini) that was found on a hot summer day having fallen into a ditch with her mum.
Aside from needing fluids for dehydration, she looked well, but she was hiding a number of injuries from the accident that quickly developed into necrosis on her stifle and pastern. Consequently she lost a huge amount of skin and will need skin grafts, plus we were told today that the infection, whilst slowed and seemingly under control, has hit the coronary band and she could loose a hoof. All of this means a huge long stay in hospital that has extended from days to weeks and into the future its looking like months.
We had a very difficult conversation with the vets today where we faced the very real likelihood of putting Bombini to sleep rather than continue simply due to the escalating cost, and this is even though she is bright, tough and very clearly a fighter!
We are raising funds from selling whatever we can think of, but would be grateful for any assistance that anyone can give.
Thank you for reading
