Mark's Multiple Myeloma Fight
As his friends know, Mark is a man who wears his heart on his sleeve, whose best trait is definitely the empathy he always has for others. His family and friends mean everything to him. I believe that he has such strong family values because he was adopted and never knew his birth parents or his history.
In March of 2020, after being diagnosed with a blood cancer called Multiple Myeloma, Mark's world has been turned upside down. He has been on dialysis, plasmapheresis and chemotherapy, which has been hell on earth. Mentally and physically. All of this while trying to dodge Corona. Dealing with failing kidneys, debilitating nausea, severe fatigue and constant bone pain has made working impossible. As a business owner, the strain on him and his family has been unbearably immense.
There is a possibility that Mark's Multiple Myeloma could go into remission if he receives a bone marrow transplant. This procedure will require him to stay in the hospital alone in isolation for one month, barring no complications. The financial burden already upon the family is substantial and has the potential to be massive after such a lengthy hospital stay. Not to mention the loss of business that has already occurred. His wife Peggy and daughter Devon are trying to manage the business in Mark's absence to keep the doors open.
Mark has always been one to lend a hand physically, emotionally and financially to others in need and now it is time that I hope we can all pull together and give back. Donations, of any amount, will help ease the strain that Mark and his family are experiencing. His fight continues with further treatment and further need for love, support and compassion.
