Bonham wildfire relief fund
This is my Dad and Step Mom, Ron and Judy Bonham. September 7th, 2020 Was the worst nightmare of all time, a wildfire came roaring full speed with very little warning through the santiam canyon and took down everything that was in its path. They fled for their lives with only their animals and what they could fit in the car. The fire took most of homes in the park they live in as well and a huge portion of the town. Their trailer made it but due to their health issues it’s very unsafe for them to live in, so unfortunately they will need to relocate. As some of you know Judy has COPD, and both of them currently have cancer, so they both are still receiving treatments at this time even with no home to go back to. This made for a very hard few weeks on them. I wanted to make this earlier but everything was very unknown, and I didn’t want to give you guys wrong information as we didn’t even know of their trailer was still standing till a few days later. Their trailer sat closed up for over a week and a half, full of smoke and ash until last Friday 9/18/2020 when we were finally able to return to Gates to assess the damage from the fire. Their trailer needs a lot of work and they just can’t do it, we are unsure if it will even be possible for them to return to the park at this time. They don’t have insurance on their trailer, we have set them up with FEMA and the VA but we are not sure that will be any help to them since there trailer is still somewhat livable in “their standers”, but we as a family all agree this won’t be the best living situation for them at all, So in the mean time they are staying with friends but also don’t want to overstay their welcome so we are currently looking for a new place for them to live. They don’t need much just a place that is safe and that they can call home, that is our main goal any extra funding they receive will be donated to someone else in need. This has been completely devastating for them and us all. These two are the most best most loving/caring people you will ever meet, I might be their child but I really do think they deserve the best! So any help would be very appreciated. Thank you all for all the support. let’s get these two a new home!! I have attached some pictures of their trailer as well as the park they live in after the fire came through, it may not look like much damage but honestly they can’t live there with their health issues. Keep us in your thoughts and keep sending those prayers!!!
