(spanish) Bonifacio Sixto Carachure. mayo 14, 1943 - diciembre 17, 2023.

(english) Bonifacio Sixto Carachure. May 14, 1943 - December 17, 2023. On December 7th our healthy, beloved father and grandfather was on his usual walk from the grocery store when he was tragically struck by a careless pickup truck driver at a four-way stop crosswalk—just a block away from home. Fighting for his life, he suffered several broken bones, fractures, and bruising causing internal bleeding. Day in and out, our family clung to hope of seeing him walk and talk again, albeit after much rehabilitation. However, his vital organs began to collapse. Both lungs were fighting an aggressive pneumonia and his kidneys stopped working; leading to severe damage that ultimately ended his life. After a slow, agonizing 10 days in the hospital, he left this world with his loved ones by his side.

Bonifacio from Corral Falso, Gro., Mex. immigrated to the USA in the 80’s and later became an American citizen. He preached honesty, righteousness, and respect by example. He promoted peace, love, and kindness in his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. As a working man, he was remarkably skilled in the cultivation of plants—the abundant production of fruits and flowers in his garden and those of his loved ones are irrefutable proof. As a builder, he participated in the construction of the Azteca Stadium, General Hospital of Mexico, and Metro Collective Transportation System—icons and monumental works of Mexico City. He found peace in walking, loved the rain, and was very passionate about soccer. The last few days he dedicated himself to maintaining the garden of some of his children, which he enjoyed immensely.

He was 80 years old and is survived by his wife Sinforosa of 63 years, 9 children, 29 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

Rest in peace papa y abuelito.
