Bonnie Reeds Cancer Treatment

Donation protected
UPDATE (4/14/24):
Bonnie has continued to participate in the Clinical trial at the Cleveland Clinic over the last several months. She has received over 30 chemo treatments. Her latest MRI scan is encouraging, as there are currently no new tumors. The clinical trial seems to be working! Bonnie's family has organized a spaghetti dinner 4/27/24 from 12-5 to raise additional funds that can be used for expenses related to treatment, including travel out of state to the Cleveland clinic once a month, medications, and cost of imaging/testing.

UPDATE (11/9/23):
On 10/7 Bonnie was admitted to the hospital because of an infection. On 10/9 the surgeon reopened her incision, enlarged it, and placed a temporary drain to help it heal. She stayed in the hospital for a few days to recover before returning home. On 10/31 Bonnie was finally able to start her chemo and radiation. She goes to radiation appointments 5 days a week and takes oral chemo pills every day. Bonnie and her family continue to remain optimistic during her battle against brain cancer. They are beyond thankful to everyone who have donated money to help them through this difficult time.

-----------------------------

On 9/1 Bonnie was hosting a garage sale when she began having seizure like activity and was unable to communicate. She was rushed to the hospital where imaging found a golf-ball sized frontal lobe tumor. On the Tuesday 9/5 the surgeon removed the tumor, which was thought to be a benign meningioma. Bonnie recovered for several days in the hospital but continues to have difficulties with balance, coordination, and communication. Two weeks later, the pathology reports came back and indicated that her tumor was a glioblastoma. Unfortunately, glioblastoma is the most aggressive brain cancer. This type of cancer has a very poor prognosis because there is no cure. Bonnie will begin radiation and chemo to slow the cancer growth. Her family is hopeful for a miracle.

The family is doing everything they can to navigate this situation but the cost of medical care, transportation, and living expenses are daunting. With permission from the family, this GoFundMe me has been created to provide support during this difficult time.
