Bonnington Family's Devastating Loss
Donation protected
We are the Friends and Family of the Bonnington’s. The Bonnington family is Andrea (27), Nicholas (23), Abbey (20), Cassidy (17) and Jeff, their father. Over the last few years, they have endured many challenges.
In 2020 and 2021, Abbey and Cassidy, both playing their favorite sport volleyball, had ACL knee injuries, surgeries, and recoveries-within one year of each other. At the same time of Cassidy’s knee injury, Michele—their mom and family rock--was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer.
After six long months of treatment including chemo, radiation, surgery, and multiple hospital stays…Michele beat it! The family hit reset and started to plan for the future
In early April, Michele began to feel unwell and developed unusual symptoms. On the morning of May 6th, 2023, the family attended Nick’s Washington State graduation ceremony. Afterwards she expressed the urgency to come home. By late afternoon, she was admitted into emergency care. That night, Michele was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. A day of celebration ended with a nightmare.
The path to a cure for AML was daunting but, she was determined to beat this second cancer. Unfortunately, during the second week of hospital stay, while receiving the first stage of treatment, Michele developed complications. Sadly, the only option was to provide pain relief and comfort care. Michele passed peacefully at a local hospice on May 24th.
Michele’s entire life was built around raising her family with her husband Jeff. Supermom to all that knew her! Her passing has left a complete and total void in the lives of family, friends, coworkers and even those who briefly knew her. She was only forty-seven and had so much more to give.
For those of you who know the Bonnington Family, they are an extraordinarily strong and proud family. Asking for help of any kind is not in their nature. If you would like to donate and/or share to help this family ease some of the current and unplanned expenses they face, we know they would be forever grateful.
