Boob: Leg Amputation

My name is Katie Jewell, and my b(r)e(a)st friend is a 5 pound, 14-year-old chihuahua named Boob.

Earlier this month, Boob fearlessly approached a pit bull's breakfast while she was eating. Seconds later, I found Boob crying and bleeding on the floor. A series of x-rays revealed that her front left shoulder is both dislocated and fractured.

Boob's vet (shoutout to Dr. Rani Reuter) and a veterinary surgeon recommend amputation. They don't believe the leg will heal on its own and think it will be easier for her body to recover from amputation than surgical repair. Somewhat fortunately, this limb was already sub-par due to a previous trauma that healed incorrectly, so Boob is already a pro tri-pod.

The surgery is scheduled for 12/16/2021 and will cost around $2300. While this is already a hefty price, I'm also going to take two weeks off of work to be home with Boob while she heals. I am extremely grateful for anything you are able to contribute to make this experience more financially comfortable for me and to show your love for Boobert.

Boob has been my baby for the past 8.5 years. While she is a huge brat (emphasis on the "rat"), she is also the sweetest little angel you'll ever meet. She has a lot of life left in her, and I will shamelessly do everything in my power to make her as comfortable as possible.
