Book Bags for Kids - Black Men Read

Tax deductible
I am committed to raising $1,500 for Black Men Read . I love the founder of the organization - Yodit Mesfin Johnson, I love books and kids need books that represent them and their heritage.  Join me in supporting Black Men Read to help them share the gift of literacy all summer long.

One of the ways BMR supports literacy is by providing kids with Book Bags that are full of learning supplies and a children's book from Black Stone Bookstore and Cultural Center . (Side note, this Black owned shop has an awesome selection of grown up books and will ship to your house.)

Each book bag costs about $7, so $7 helps 1 local child, $70 gets bags in the hands of 10 kids and $100 helps 14 local kids in preschool through 5th grade.

I love this note from the BMR Facebook page :  Our dream is that every human, regardless of their seen or unseen identities, has the opportunity to live fully into their purpose, and to be cherished just as they are.

I hope you will join me and my family in promoting literacy for kids by making a gift today.

Finally, they are always looking for Black, male volunteer readers. Sign up to read here .

Note, NEW is the fiscal sponsor for Black Men Read so your gift will be passed through that organization.
