BOOK BOOST: Support thinkers & artists at risk
Donation protected
The team of the University of New Europe is happy to invite you to participate in our new initiative – Book Boost!
What is Book Boost? This initiative is made possible through a collaboration of the UNE mentor programme for Central- and Eastern-European academic and arts professionals and students at risk with the Amsterdam-based bookshop and publisher Pegasus. Book Boost serves a dual purpose: providing an uplifting gift for thinkers and makers at risk who participate in our mentorship program and supporting talented Ukrainian children. We invite our mentees to sign up to receive a book that inspires their artistic or intellectual practice. We aim to raise funds to cover expenses, and Pegasus will donate 5% of each Book Boost transaction, with a guaranteed minimum contribution of €200, to Bright Kids Charity, a Ukrainian organization dedicated to supporting children affected by the war.
Why is this important? Due to the ongoing war in Europe, countless students, scholars, artists, and cultural professionals face significant personal and financial challenges. While they are separated from homes, loved ones, or otherwise in difficult circumstances, even a small gesture, like gifting a book, can brighten their day. More importantly, every donation directly supports Ukrainian children, nurturing the next generation of thinkers.
How can you help? By donating and spreading the word! For every Euro contributed, UNE ensures it counts!
If you are in Amsterdam, join us during our Book Boost launch on Thursday January 30 5:00-7:00pm at VOX-POP Amsterdam, together with renowned writers, performers, and scholars. For more information and a free ticket, please follow this link to our page.
A present for a thinker and maker at risk, helps support Ukrainian children. Join our network of generosity!
