Book Project about Gypsies Around the World

Hi, my name is Diana and I am fundraising for myself as a writer. I have done all the preliminary research for my dissertation "Gypsies in Brazil," for Princeton University and I wish to turn it into a book. This is now my full-time job until I finish and the money will help me focus on writing.

The book will be called "How Gypsies Work and Travel Around the World: From India to Brazil." It will be 75,000 words and it will include pictures I took during my fieldwork and travels around the world. I plan to pitch the book to university publishers since it is a memoir in the academic non-fiction genre, based on my training as an anthropologist. I have suffered from psychosis and been diagnosed as bipolar and I can't handle the stress of being an employed academic, but I hope my book will raise awareness about mental illness in a gentle way as well. Gypsies remain fascinating to most of us, but this book brings clarity.
