Book Stop Brixton
Donation protected
Book Stop Brixton was established in 2014 at 6 Somerleyton Road in Brixton. The aim is to provide free reading material to the residents of Moorlands estate and the wider community in Brixton.
Books are donated to the project and given away on our book stand which is next to the P5 bus stop on Somerleyton Road.
I am looking to raise funds to do the following.
Fix and maintain the book stop and make it waterproof.
Waterproof the storage area for the books.
fix a secondary storage unit which will house more books
Hire a part time worker, a young person from Brixton to manage the store for 1 month @ 20 hours per week.
I would need the funds as soon as possible so that the work can be carried out.
It would mean a lot to have this done as it would make the running of The Book Stop a lot smoother and this work is simply out of my affordability at the moment.
The Book Stop is used by many people in Brixton daily and it provides all ages access to Free reading materials.
Please take time to have a look at the page on facebook.com/ Book Stop Brixton to see some photos and videos of the project.
