Years ago I was visiting a friend in the hospital. Walking to her room I heard a toddler crying. When I passed the room the toddler was in I realized he or she was all alone. I vowed that day to never let that happen to any of my children.
As a 4 year old child, I found myself in a crisis which has left abandonment issues haunting me, even though that was 50+ years ago.
These experiences are why I'm so passionate about Books to the Rescue for North Georgia!
Books to the Rescue for North Georgia is an ongoing first-of-its kind community engagement outreach program designed to stock Rescue Vehicles (and supporting agencies that serve children) with drawstring backpacks filled with new children’s activity, sticker and chapter books along with new stuffed animals.
Our primary mission is to equip first responders with resources to help soothe and distract a child in crisis.
We also equip Foster Care organizations, Domestic Violence Advocacy groups, & other like-minded organizations with the same items as the Rescue Vehicles receive.
