BoonBrown fundraiser to secure construction of Sei's School
Donation protected
BoonBrown are fundraising to support the construction of a school in Sei, one of eight tranquil islands creating the ‘Turtle Islands’ in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Sierra Leone, West Africa.
The BoonBrown team are aiming to cover the distance from our Southwest Studio, in Yeovil, to the site of the school in Sei. This is a distance of 3,042 miles. We will be aiming to complete this target over the month of March. The milage can be achieved using activities such as walking, running, cycling, swimming and other forms of exercise and sport. This accumulates to approximately 30 miles a week per person!
We are hoping to raise £1,000 GBP to assist with the funding for the construction of the school.
BoonBrown are also supporting the school with the architectural design and will be producing sketches, models and details to help them construct and finish the much needed education building for around 50 children.
About the School in Sei
Limited funds to purchase and transport materials to the island have made it difficult for the village leaders to complete the construction of the school. Our fundraiser aims to support the money already raised to get a total of $7,800 USD/£6,700 GBP to purchase and transport materials to the island to construct the roof, windows, and doors before the rainy season begins around May.
We appreciate any donation you can make to help ensure the children on the island receive a proper education for their future and livelihood. Below is an image of the temporary school that they are currently learning in.
Thank you.
