Boo's Needed Blood Transfusion
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kerry. My wife Chris and I are trying to raise money for our fur-baby Boo. Boo suddenly got sick one night and couldn't keep food or water down. I noticed while he was laying on my lap that same night, his tongue and cheeks were very pale. Contacted our vet immediately and took Boo in for bloodwork. Our vets results came out positive for anemia. Boo was described steroids and antibiotics and antacids for upset belly. Very next day, he still couldn't eat or drink without getting sick. Because it was a holiday weekend, we quickly took Boo to 24hr. emergency vet. The vet there, took more bloodwork, x-rays and ultrasound looking for possible mass. All tests came back negative for mass. After more bloodwork, vet found that Boo's blood plates had slightly gotten worse since the day before. He had said if the addedmedications didnt work out, he would need a life saving blood transfusion.
Calling ahead to yet another emergency hospital that could perform the transfusion for information on cost, we were quoted anywhere from $2000-$5000. This all depends on whether Boo would have to stay overnight, plus meds, more bloodwork vet fees and whatever in between.
My wife and I are able to take care of our baby for basic vet bills as needed for the health of Boo throughout the year, but this is out of our league. I do work full-time, my wife is on disability, but finances for something of this magnitude is impossible without the wonderful donors like you to help.
Chris and I were fosters for a wonderful rescue organization called " Cocker Nation Rescue". We were first introduced to foster Boo until he found his forever home. Well, that was it. We had Boo one day and became what they say in foster care as a "Foster Failure". Meaning, the next day paid the adoption fee and adopted this sweet baby into our family. It was a no-brainer....lol. He's the biggest cuddler and most well behaved little buddy anyone could ask for, not to mention his all out goofiness and his knob tail always wagging. He truly rescued my wife and I not the other way around. Boo is our world and to think we would have to euthanize him because of a lousy expensive bag of blood would absolutely devastate us forever.
This is why we are asking donors like yourself to find it in your heart to donate to Boo's lifesaving cause. He's our boy and he deserves much longer life as so many animals do.
Donors money would go to all of Boo's medical bills such as, office call, vet fees, medications, overnight stay if needed and the lifesaving blood transfusion.
Please donate what you can. Every little bit helps. My wife and I can't thank you enough for your generosity of your donation. Saving an animal's life is priceless. So from Boo's heart and my wife and i's heart.....Thank you!
