Boost Bountiful Beloit with a New Tractor

Here at Bountiful Beloit, we only have one farmer and that's Raul. And he only has so many hours in a day. Something that limits how much and what types of things we can grow is simply how much time it takes for Raul to farm our 3 acres by hand and all by himself. Time to buy this farmer a tractor!

We do not own a tractor (yet!) We have a large rototiller and a small, but fast, strong, and determined farmer who makes do and powers through. He will probably still work the fields every night until 9p when we have a tractor, but he will sure get a lot more done (which will make Raul happy) and he will be less exhausted (which will make me worry about him less...probably) and he will have time to grow more fruit (which will be

great news for all of you! Mmm...raspberries!!)

There are a few ways this fundraiser may play out, depending on how much money we raise. At the $6,000 level, we will get a walk-behind tractor which would less versatile and more work for the farmer, but at least it could handle this heavy workload better than the rototiller. If we raise $12,000 we will either buy a little used Kubota tractor (if we find a good one) or we can use that money as a down payment on a new tractor and finance the rest (could be a bit of a stretch, honestly.) OR you can help us raise the full $24,000 and we will buy a new 24 HP Kubota tractor that will do all the things that a farm needs done. No matter which fundraising level we get to, any extra funds left over after tractor purchase will go toward purchasing fruit plants for the farm next spring. No waste here, our mission is to grow food for you! And it’s one we enjoy. :D
