Living With MS Health Campaign

Hi Everyone!
So this is a big thing that has taken a long while to believe I could do, but I am here asking for your help.
I have Multiple Sclerosis. I was diagnosed in 2005 with Relapse Remitting MS and have been on Disease Modifying drugs since then, which help to reduce my relapses hopefully slowing down disability. This is a life long progressive illness with, as yet no cure https://www.mssociety.org.uk/about-ms/what-is-ms
I live with daily variable chronic fatigue, mobility difficulties and things like cognitive problems, bladder and bowel issues. I am a positive person and have tried to look after myself, this meant retiring from my stressful job of primary teaching to put my energy in to bringing up my daughters and trying to manage my life for the better. But in 2018 I went through the demoralising PIP process (DLA replacement) and following that I noticed further deterioration in my health particularly with anxiety, fatigue, muscle weakness and walking. I had two bad falls, which left me feeling very vulnerable and more scared for my future.
So in 2019 I decided to make some changes in my life and take a more pro-active approach to educating myself, sustaining and hopefully improving my health.
Unfortunately the DWP benefits I am on don’t stretch to me trying alternative complimentary therapies to support my health and that is why I am here.
So here it is, A BIG ASK. Could you help? I have set up this gofundme campaign to raise funds to help me access the complimentary therapies below, plus the range of supplements which will support my NHS medical care and enhance my physical and emotional health.
- Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy - £12 a session, recommended 2 sessions a week breathing oxygen in a pressurised container (it can help with bladder and fatigue symptoms) at Trafford Multiple Sclerosis Centre http://www.msntc.org.uk/ms-therapies/oxygen-treatment/ -
-Physiotherapy - £10 for half hour weekly session specifically working on areas of weakness to build strength and co-ordination, at Trafford MS Centre http://www.msntc.org.uk/ms-therapies/physiotherapy/
-Acupuncture £45 a session providing relief from some MS symptoms like fatigue, pain, sensory, bladder and waste issues…
- Shiatsu - £35 an hour. Supports healing process, relaxing and energising
- Yoga, meditation and relaxation 2 sessions £15
- Pilates...low impact excerises to keep body mobile
- Swimming in small heated pool specifically for people with disabilies
- Supplements such as CBD oil, flax seed oil, biotin, high strength Vitamin D
I have put the list above with some costs just so you can see where any funds raised would be used.
I really want to see if me taking on board some or all of these therapies can help me to live healthily with MS and slow down the deterioration I face by keeping fitter and stronger.
This campaign supported my health so much in 2019 I have decided to leave it open for anyone who feels they would like to donate. Unfortunately my MS is here to stay!
Thank you for reading this ask. If you feel called and are able to donate anything to help me put my health first I will be deeply deeply grateful :-) I have had encouragement from Annabel Newfield, Heather Southern and Zena Boutayeb with this and have a Savings Account set up in my name for funds for my health related to MS.
