Boote Family Home & Businesses lost in Maui Fire
Donation protected
By now you are likely aware of the catastrophic wildfires which have engulfed and destroyed the beautiful and historic town of Lahaina on Maui.
Our dear friends, Dawn DeMattei-Boote, Jamie Boote and their two sons, Makana and Luka, have called Lahaina home for over two decades. During this time Dawn and Jamie worked tirelessly to build their businesses, Dawn as a salon owner and hairstylist, and Jamie as the owner and operator of West Maui Cycles. They purchased their dream home in Lahaina, and had just completed a remodel.
During the early morning hours of August 9th everything changed as the Boote family fled their home in a panic, leaving everything behind except the clothes they were wearing and their beloved dog and cat. While incredibly grateful to have made it out unharmed, they later received the devastating news that their home and both businesses were tragically destroyed by the fire.
We are reaching out to friends and family on behalf of the Boote family to help us raise funds in which to support them during this extremely challenging and surreal time. We are hopeful that we can come together to assist with immediate and essential needs, such as temporary housing, clothing, and food. While they grieve the loss of the lovely community they were a part of, they will have much to navigate as they plan for the next steps of rebuilding their lives from scratch.
The Boote family is extremely grateful for any amount that you are comfortable giving. All of the funds raised will go directly to the Boote family. Your support is deeply appreciated and will make a difference in their lives.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to us with any questions you may have.
Thank you so very much.
