Borderless Music & Arts Festival Fundraiser

Borderless Music & Arts Festival is a multidisciplinary arts showcase that centres women, BIPOC, intersectional identities, and inclusive community-building with an eclectic mosaic of music, dance, visual art, spoken word, poetry, drag, improv, comedy, circus, and film.

For over 4 years, Borderless and its DIY year-round programming has brought an amazing wealth of diversity, culture, collaboration, innovation, and excitement to Nogojiwanong Peterborough.

Now that we have established ourselves in the community, started a website, and live-streamed our first virtual festival, we are planning our first in-person event since the pandemic started. Since 2016, Borderless Records has been a passion project and community building effort to empower marginalized artists and create a more inclusive and magnificent music & arts environment in the city.

This fundraiser will ensure that Borderless will be able to continue operating and supporting local artists throughout the year.

We recently produced a free virtual festival that supported over 30 artists who were women, queer, and BIPOC to complete some really amazing and creative video projects. I am in awe of what we have accomplished together in the middle of so many global struggles. It inspired confidence, collaboration, imagination, and hope. 

We streamed over 24 hours in total from July 22 to July 25, featuring a marathon of local art, performance, thought, improv, poetry, circustry, discourse, music, movement, and the most diverse showcase that exceeded all of our previous expectations of ourselves. It was not only a free virtual festival accessible to everyone but also an amazing feat of local cultural history. Over 30 artists who come from all walks of life, who have had very different pandemic experiences, and different mediums of expression. We pushed ourselves to learn a lot of new things, organize during a time of utter chaos, and confront our fears with joy. 

Borderless Music & Arts Festival will be releasing individual segments of the livestream on Youtube over the next couple of weeks.
