Help me make a difference!

My name is Maisey Rowles. I am 15 years old and attend John Hanson School. I have been given the opportunity to go on an international expedition to Borneo in 2021 to volunteer in life changing projects.

This trip offers me the unique chance to live and work as part of the community, helping local people improve their living standards in a sustainable way and supporting various conservation efforts to safeguard the future of some of the world’s rarest and most impressive wildlife.

The core objectives of this expedition are to undertake projects in order to; raise the educational standards of developing communities and raise the living standards of developing communities within a rural district of Borneo. I will also assist with on-going wildlife conservation programmes to preserve biodiversity and protect vulnerable habitats.

I think the experience and opportunity to help others who are not as fortunate as I am will be amazing, but in order for me to do this I need to reach a fundraising target of £4,350 by April 2021.

38% of this money will be going straight into the local community and the remainder of the money is used to fund my trip, i.e flights, accommodation, food etc.

My first fundraising event was held on the 30th of November 2019 and I shaved my head and donated my hair to the 'Little Princess Trust'. This trust makes wigs out of donated hair and gives them to children who have long term hair loss condions.

When it asks for a tip it's a minimum of £1 and if you dont want to tip the website put 0 in the tip box.
