About Me
Hi! My name is Amith boteju and my good friend and business partners name is Ramall Goodrich. First and foremost, thank you for your time. For those who do not know me here is a brief snapshot of who I am.
I was born and spent the majority of my child hood in Sri Lanka. As a child and into adulthood, I’ve witnessed the civil war for over two decades. My family was fortunate to have a grandmother in America who sponsored us which allowed for us to come to America and make a better life for ourselves. Currently I am an up and coming music artist, in addition to being a business man with a focus on bringing technology to Sri Lanka to advance the countries various lacking infrastructures in telecommunications and energy.
Recent Tragedy in Sri Lanka:
On April 20th, 2019, Easter Sunday, all those memories came back to me of the civil war and heinous acts that transpired during that time period, and I relived them through my people who experienced the massacre event that took place in multiple locations in Colombo. I received the first phone call from family and friends around 10pm PST, that a bomb explosion had occurred over at a church in Kochekade. As hours went by, I kept on getting more calls about more bomb explosions. From my talks with Sri Lankan locals and news reports, there have been a 10 total bomb explosions. I was devastated, heart broken, and lost for words. I do a lot of philanthropy and business development in Sri Lanka. As a child, I always dreamt of creating opportunities for as many as I could for generations to come.
Location close to my heart:
Shangri -La is one of my favorite hotels that both me and Ramall have stayed in among many of the places I have traveled in the world. I received calls from staff members that I’ve built relationships with over the years, only to inform me that some of their co-workers have died from this incident, which was very heart breaking for me. I love my country and people so much and even though I’ve been living in America for the past 22 years, I have never forgotten where I come from.
In fact, I have a clothing line named “Born In Sri Lanka”, I came up with this brand 3 years ago to promote all of my Sri Lankan’s that are living abroad, which I allocate some of those proceeds back to my motherland.
Use of Funds:
With the money we are raising, our main focus is to help with all necessary needs. Me and Ramall will be hands on with this project.
-Sheltering
-Food & Clothing
-Help rebuild some of the structures effected
-Make a small financial contribution to families who lost loved ones.
-Medical bills
Updates:
-I will be positing updates via social media of how the funds you have contributed are being put to work.
-Video of me helping locals
-Interviews of locals that have been affected and the positive stories of those who benefit from your contributions
Thank You!
