BORNE Student Initiative Medical Internship
Donation protected
Hello Everyone, my name is Abyssinia Moges. I am a senior at the University of North Texas, aspiring to be a Physician in the near future. I have been blessed with the opportunity to serve with Bahir Dar Outreach for Neurology Student Initiative (BORNE) in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia this July 2019. My goal is to learn about international medicine, specifically neurology, through hands-on clinical research and experiences. I aim to understand how neurological diseases are treated with minimal resources. Through the guidance and instruction of Dr. Mehari Gebreyohanns, a UT Southwestern Assistant Professor of Neurology and Neurotherapeutics, I hope to leave an imprint on the Bahir Dar community.
Your kind donation would allow me to become one step closer to my lifelong aspiration of being a patient care provider. These donations will cover expenses such as flight costs which will be an immense help that I will forever be grateful for. Neurological diseases have directly impacted my family, and being able to conduct research to better understand neurology in Ethiopia gives me great pride. I genuinely want to be able to be the change I want to see in the world.
Through the BORNE Student Initiative internship, I hope to gain the knowledge and skills needed so that I can embody my ideal patient care provider. I plan to use what I have learned to help nurture the community that helped me become the woman I am today. I hope that my neurological research opens doors in not only Ethiopia, but also in other countries that may lack the funding or education within this concentration. Thank you for your support, prayers and especially your donations. No donation is too small, I pray that you all receive and abundance of health, happiness, and prosperity. To help me reach my financial goal, please share the link to your Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or other social media pages. Thank you again for helping me reach levels that I may not have been able to reach on my own!
