Borneo Volunteering 2024

I am raising money for an expedition I will be doing in 2024 with my school and Camps International. I will experience true off-grid living, (a little harder than camping in Sussex!), trekking through the heart of the Bornean jungle (sleeping in self made hammocks) and helping to protect the Orangutan habitats. 

We will be discovering a totally different way of life, living as part of a rural community and working together with friends, new and old, to help to create sustainable change. 

On this once-in-a-lifetime adventure, I will get the opportunity to explore the unique jungle ecosystem and unexplored tropical wilderness on an adventurous 5 day trek. (Spiders and all! Eek!) I will play an active part in helping to protect this important environment through long-term conservation projects; For example helping to build schools, toilets, or whatever project is in progress when we’re there? I will be living in the heart of a Bornean village and working alongside local people to help support community development. 

I am so excited for this amazing opportunity, to meet new people, see the Orangutans in their natural habitat, meet and help the locals, and have the best time ever!
