Bosphorus Swim
Donation protected

On the 21/7/19 Ann Bates and Glenn Tector will attempt to swim from Asia to Europe in the Bosphorus Cross Continental Swim in Istanbul Turkey.
In 2014 Ann was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and through the incredible treatment in UCHG under the Wonderful care of Professor Michael Kerin and his positive empowering team along with Oncologist Miriam O’Connor in WRH/St.Lukes Kilkenny she has made a full recovery and is delighted to have made it to the 5 year cancer free mark.
As a way of giving back to UCHG she would like to do this in aid of breast cancer research which has in the past developed high quality research programmes leading to earlier diagnosis and individualisation of treatment and hence better treatment outcomes.
Cancer has affected so many families and it rocked our family to the core but we survived are thriving and now taking on this crazy challenge.
I would hope that by doing this swim it might give someone going through a cancer diagnosis hope that there is a lot of living to do after cancer and that getting your fitness , health and essence back can be achievable after cancer.
I believe you have to live until you die !!
Your Kind donations will be given to breast cancer research aiming towards a future where we can stop cancer in its tracks and get back to living fulfilling healthy lives.
From the bottom of our hearts we thank you
