Boss’ Cancer Removal

Hi, my name is Hailey, and I’m creating this fundraiser to help my dog get treatment for cancer.

Boss is my 6 year old lab. I’ve had him since he was a puppy, and we have been basically inseparable since. He is the sweetest, most gentle giant dog.”

I recently found a mass on his front right paw that seemed to be bothering him. I took him to his vet and it was found to be a mast cell tumor. While there they also found a smaller mass of concern on his back knee. This is an aggressive cancer and the primary treatment is removing both masses. With the location being between his middle toes, he will also more than likely lose those two toes to the procedure. Once removed the mass can be sent off to histology for more clarification on its severity.

Boss has been one of the biggest components of my support system, and is truly my best friend. Boss and I spend most days cuddling in bed after long night shifts, share a love for dinosaurs, and are each other’s biggest comfort. You will always find him with a toy in his mouth and greeting any person he meets with endless tail wags. I don’t think Boss has ever met a stranger or anything but a friend. He even gained a new little sister recently and loves to play and snuggle her. Fetch and sunbathing are some of his favorite activities.

This surgery is going to be a big turning point in both of our lives, as recovery is definitely going to take some time. And adapting to the potential of having a little lobster claw. I know regardless, he will be very happy no matter his disposition after surgery.
