Help Support Boss with his BOAS Surgery ❤️

Hey Everyone, Above is Boss, he is 3 years old and yess he is my baby , my sidekick , my dopey little shadow & of course I am going to do what it takes for him to have this surgery.

I am making this page because in recent months Boss has had issues with his nose and Airways also known as “Brachycephalic Upper Airways Obstruction Syndrome” BOAS. it has caused him to regurgitate a lot of food, water, led to digestive problems, inhaling with such force that its causes the stomach to lift up into the chest cavity leading to hernia, acid reflux etc, taking in too much air whilst eating drinking causing him to reverse his food intake.

I am aware that this happens a lot with French bulldogs and not all of them need surgery and can be maintained, those with serious cases need the surgery hence why boss has always been insured since he was 8 weeks old incase of this reason, if it was ever to become a issue and was raised he would be covered,

HOWEVER within the last 6 months boss has shown symptoms of struggle and WAGGEL decided to refuse his claims. even with the vets fighting this proving that there was no valid reason to refuse and no previous and that I have done everything by the book evidently as a responsible dog owner they still refused to pay out for his surgery. I deffo will not be going back to them again for a pet insurance quote!

boss was seen by a specialist who specialises in the surgery for frenchies and pointed out that boss is one of the worst cases he has seen and he does surgeries all over the world! he mentioned he was shocked yet amazed at how boss had adapted himself to his condition and was able to self regulate during times he would struggle let alone figure out to just breath through his mouth and not his nose.

he's currently on omeprazole to help ease inflammatory issues in the chest & stomach area and ease regurgitation ,acid reflux heartburn etc and it has seemed to ease it a lot but is not a permanent fixture. its just temporary until surgery can be rebooked and followed through.

boss is a happy lovely tame playful and alsooo a Lazy sleepy boy. he has the best personality, he's so loving so caring aswell as being a proper clown, generally gets on with every day life and loves making new friends specially dogs bigger then him. unfortunately due to his condition it does affect his running around even though it may not seem it in videos u may see , he does try his best to not let it stop him from enjoying the outside , however it does come to a point where he has to stop and calm down and allow the build up of fluids that's gathered due to him breathing through his mouth whilst running is released and needs cleaning up. It’s just no way for him to live out his life I can only imagine how uncomftable it must be on a daily basis.

all funds raised will go towards his surgery which is 2500 as we generally want the best for him, at the moment he is within the perfect age catchment for the surgery he is currently 3 years old, specialist mentions they feel its a safe age to do this sort of surgery around 3-4 mark 5 is stretching it but Is still possible, anything after that is high risk. as a pet owner we just want him to be as comfortable as possible, and to be able to run around the fields and do his little army rolls and crawls as much as he wants without a problem and generally just be able to breath normally without throwing up.

surgery consists of his vet making incisions in his nostril area and opening up the nose for easier air flow through nasal passage along with a portion of his upper soft pallet of his mouth being removed.
