Bot Blast Arena Safety Upgrades

Hello! Bot Blast , a combat robot event run by me and my family, is approaching it's 10th year of operation. One of our polycarbonate panels broke during a match at the 2016 event, making it clear that we are overdue to replace all the polycarbonate walls. Robotic technology is improving at a rapid rate, and our older 1/4" thick and 3/16" thick polycarbonate is no longer adequate for use.

I am asking for donations from friends, family, and the robotics community to keep our competitors and spectators safe. This spring I will be replacing all 12 wall panels with brand new 3/8" thick polycarbonate for the 2017 event in July. Each new piece will cost us approximately $230. Financially I can not do it without help; this arena upgrade is beyond what I can personally afford.  Your donations will allow our insectweight event to continue to operate safely. We have a perfect safety record, and intend to keep it that way.

Funds are needed by the end of May, so we can order the lexan, cut it to size, and get it mounted to the arena during June. The 2017 event is scheduled for July 15, 2017.

Your support will mean so much to me, my family, and the entire community of combat robotics. Without help, I would not be able to afford the upgrade, and would consequently need to retire Bot Blast, as I will NOT operate an event that isn't 100% safe for all in attendance. Safety is our number 1 priority and the structural integrity of the arena is one of the most important safety elements of a combat robot event.

I am grateful that competitors have enjoyed participating in my event for the last 9 years, and I want to continue operating an event that is looked forward to every summer.
