Both legs down! Waiting for surgery!

Hi! My name is Siobhan and over the last year I’ve had a severe decline in my left hip. I’ve spent most of the last year on my cane unable to walk unaided.

I have a significant labral tear that needs repair and I’ve been sent to three different surgeons in the last year and am patiently waiting for a plan to repair and recovery. In the meantime, the instability of my left leg has led to many falls. My hip dislocates often.

I have had two falls this past week alone and am presently in VGH hospital emergency as I have broken my right foot, leaving me unable to walk. Once released from the hospital, I am going to need home care and support to be able to function. These include adaptive devices to help me bathe, and be mobile- wheelchair, walker etc. I will need support grocery shopping, cooking and getting to medical appointments

I am a single mum of a 15 year old son with no other family support. Since the pandemic I’ve been battling vulva cancer and I’ve been trying to heal a concussion and my broken heart..

Any support you may endow upon my wee family would be so greatly appreciated as it will help me recover more readily while the adapted devices will enable me to continue to do my job that I llove so much so that we don’t slip into poverty and homelessness
