Boulders Lakeside Earth Day Cleanup

Hi! My name is Kelsey, and I am organizing a cleanup event at the community lake and walking trail by my apartment complex. This is a Resource Protection Area that has not been maintained over the past few years. The walking trail is used by residents of two different apartment complexes, as well as the employees of the nearby office buildings. There is a large build up of trash along the walking trail and on the shoreline of the lake. The trash is beginning to affect the local wildlife, and run into the Powhite Creek... which runs into the James River!

The cleanup event will be held on Sunday April 21st 2024 and begin at 12pm. (Potential rain date tbd.) The meeting location will be at the trail entrance by the Boulder's Lakeside Apartment clubhouse.

I am asking for donations for cleanup supplies such as gloves, bags or buckets, and trash grabbers. Since I am not affiliated with any other cleanup groups in the area, I do not have supplies for volunteers yet. My goal would be to build up a collection of supplies that I will be able to use for future cleanup events as well!
