Bourne to Ride for Charity on a ride on mower
Donation protected
My late Father In Law was unfortunately struck with Motor Neurone Disease, and ever since I have vowed to one day help the charity to fund research to help others. In addition, my work with the MCF (Masonic Charitable Foundation) has taught me how much they do to help people both in the UK and overseas, a great example in the past 3 weeks they have donated over £300,000 between the Red Cross to help fund refugees fleeing Ukraine and the Ukraine Crisis Appeal directly. Finally, a local Charity in Kent, The Kenward Trust, offers residential rehabilitation for the homeless and those suffering from drug and alcohol addictions. All extremely worthwhile charities, whom I am proud to support.
Working in the Grounds Maintenance Industry, this challenge to go from Lands End to John O Groats on a ride on mower seemed the perfect fit to attempt. The Journey is 880 miles from Cornwall to Caithness in Scotland taking in some breath taking scenery along the way, its a shame we will not have time to mow the embankments en route.
Iseki, one of the leading Worldwide manufacturers of mowers and compact tractors are supporting the quest, which has been registered with Guinness World Records. We have set ourselves the target of 5 days to complete the challenge, the record currently sits at 5 days and 8 hours.
