Bournville RFC & Coronavirus
Donation protected
Bournville Rugby Club and Avery Fields is an increasingly important part of the Birmingham Sporting Community. After moving to our purpose build ground at the start of last season we have continued to develop as a club and as a community and sporting hub.
We currently field 3 Men’s Senior Teams and a growing ladies squad as well as a flourishing minis and juniors section with nearly 400 boys and girls of all ages. In addition Avery Fields is also the home to local football clubs, a Rugby League squad, and an American Football Club not to mention being an important host to a variety of other community groups.
However given the current coronavirus challenge and the need to suspend all sporting and social activity the club is closed.
This obviously means that our current revenue is £0 with no sense of when that might change. It also means that none of our planned fundraising events can be run. These are events that are important to the club with the funds raised being crucial to our ongoing costs.
The RFU have recently stated that they will be looking to support community clubs like ours but there are currently no specific details and we are keen to see how we, and the club community that we are building, can help support ourselves in the first instance.
So we are putting out this campaign to request support and donations from individuals and groups/businesses. Any donations of any size would be gratefully received and invested into the club in readiness for the next season.
