Boxing Day Dip/Mental Health Awareness
Hello, I’m Rebecca. Myself & Graeme Mcivor have teamed up to organise a Boxing Day Dip.
A Little Bit About Us:
We met when I organised and took part in The Human Excellence Project Global#swimrise event back in October. Since then Graeme has gone on to organise his own dip. Which I attended. To raise money for a local charity and awareness for mental health. Since losing his son in October to Suicide his drive and strength is beyond inspirational. He sense of community spirit is unbelievable and it’s no wonder that i wanted to team up with him and become friends.
'The Pals Programme's Aaron's Angels will provide basic, cascaded training to help men recognise symptoms, develop listening skills and signpost services across Teesside. Pub based sessions across the 5 boroughs will provide a comfortable, accessible and informal context that will be in the heart of the community. Your funds will pay to publicise, promote, facilitate and provide resources for this innovative programme designed for the people by the people.
As well as deciding to help Mike McGrother out with all the fantastic work he does within the community. We are wanting to raise awareness for Mental Health. Christopher Dobson is currently climbing Roseberry Topping everyday from 1st December - 24th December 2019. He is climbing with a weight of 25kg on his back which will represent the burden on people’s shoulders. Over the month represents regardless of weather, fatigue some people have no choice but to keep climbing that struggle. We are hoping for Chris to join us on Boxing Day Dip to come together after his epic journey. We live in an area where Suicide is at its highest.
We will be all meeting at 7:50am on Boxing Day at Seaton Carew Beach Front Car Park. We dip at 8:12am. Everyone that comes down to dip with us we also for a donation of £10. I do ask that everyone wears a Santa hat
Post dip: After we have braved the cold sea. We will be heading to Billingham Town FC to chat, warm up with a hot drink and bacon/sausage buns. Or maybe warm up with a alcoholic beverage.
We hope to see you there. Thank you for taking time to read this.
Please give what you can.
Peace & Love
