Boxmoor Virtual Marathon

Boxmoor Virtual Marathon is a way to motivate the residents of Boxmoor and further afield, to get outside and be active. Run, cycle, scoot, wheel, walk and/or swim your way to complete the 26.2 mile challenge over ten weeks.

From the 8th May, the day the Olympic flame arrives in France for its journey to Paris, you can start the challenge. You can cover the 26.2 miles by doing a bit of distance each day or each week. And if you want to, you can do a combination of activities. You need to complete your challenge over ten weeks to receive a medal in time for the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony. If you want to sign up for the Virtual Marathon, there's still time. You can sign up here.

Get family and friends to sponsor you for taking part in this amazing challenge. Ask them to leave note on this page to say who they are sponsoring. All money raised through this fundraising page goes to One Impossible Thing.

One Impossible Thing is a Hemel based charity that collects preloved sports shoes and gives them for free to those who need a little extra help. Working with schools, charities, holiday activity camps and other organisations, all the sports shoes go to children and adults in the West Herts and Luton area. To date they have given out 3,924 pairs of preloved sports shoes. That equates to 54.936 tonnes of CO2 emissions saved.
